I stopped by a nursery that is getting ready for a big move. So I think I got a deal because there are little lemons growing on it already!!! And the blossoms smell so good!! I hope and pray I don't ruin it.

Any advice. I am starting it in a pot because my dog is digging at my peach tree and I think it will be safer.

Welcome to citrus. I love my trees. I have Meyer Lemons, Variegated Lemons, Key Limes, Rio Red Grapefruit, three varieties of Satsumi Oranges, and one Kumquat. I have some in pots, and biggers ones are planted in the garden. As far as general suggestions...(1) Always have good drainage. (2) Fertilize lightly, Lutz Citrus Tablets work pretty good (3) When watering, I usually let the top 1 1/2 inches of soil dry before watering. (4) Cold hardy citrus is a misnomer...If it's going to get below 40F, it's a good idea to bring it inside, or cover it with a blanket, and or a light bulb depending on how cold you get. (5) If it's a small tree, as much as you would love to let it set as much fruit as possible, don't. The first year, I would strongly suggest you allow it to set only a few fruits. That way it continues to grow, rather than put all it's resources into filling fruit. It's worth it as the time goes by. Just discovered that walking sticks love citrus leaves. They've now made my destroy on sight list. I left them alone before....not now!!! Hope you enjoy your citrus, if I can ever be of assistance drop me a note.....
