Hello everyone. I am new to this board. I have just bought a house in SW Florida. I noticed that my 2 citrus trees in my backyard appear to be covered in MOLD! Anyone know what is causing this and if it can be fixed? Thanks!!
It would be difficult to say for sure without more information--Pictures would be helpful. There is a fungus disease called greasy spot that causes black spots on leaves. It could also be from aphid droppings.
There is a link that has pictures of greasy spot, but I cannot post it here.
I sent you a Private message with the link.

The entire trunk of the tree and some branches are covered in a light green/whitish mold. I have tried searching it and have come up with nothing
Is the mold like a spider web?

No the trunk and branches are just covered in it!!
Does it rub off? I have never heard of a light green mold on citrus trees. Any chance you could post a picture?

I get a light greenish white mold on the bottom of my over watered pots. Is it possible that the trunk, tree are getting over wet and staying wet?

Is it possible that the tree was sprayed with a copper fungicide?

If so these are harmless lichens. They are a fungal growth that grows on three branches and trunks. They should not hurt your tree.
