I have a orange tree I have had it for 3 years it was about 6 inches when i got it. It has never produced any fruit. just keeps growing. I do not cut it back and now it is about 5 ft and just keeps growing. Any book I read tell me to prune it but i am not sure where and how much so I dont.

I aslo have a grapefruit tree that is about 6 ft and now in october it is starting to produce fruite on one of the stems. The other stems just keeps growning. Should this be cut back so to help the fruit to produce.

I have a minature orange tree that gets blossoms but the fruit never growss The leave look wilted but the tree keeps growing.

Help, If you have any suggfestion please let me know.

Thanks Jennylou

Is your tree in a pot or outside in the ground? If it is in a pot you keep indoors you may need to prune it to maintain whatever size is appropriate. Outdoors, pruning of citrus is generally unnecessary and can increase age of the tree required to set fruit.

As for the lack of fruit, was this tree grown from seed? If so it may take 7-10 years to set fruit.
