I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Scott, and I live in southern California. I received a dwarf citrus tree-eureka lemon in July as a gift. The tree is about 4 ft. tall and the pot it is in is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 ft tall. It currently has no fruit or buds on it. Someone told me that I should re-pot it soon, but I have no idea what size pot to use or how to go about re-potting it. I could use the collective advise from all of you knowledgeable people out there.

Welcome to the forum Scott. You will find the people here will help with your questions and they have good advice. You may want to re-pot you lemon but do not go to a huge pot. Use a pot that is only a little bit larger than you are already planted in i.e. if you have a 10" pot do not go larger than a 12" pot. I am fairly new to citrus myself but have learned alot by reading the threads and asking questions. Good luck
Hi Scott, Welcome to the forum. The biggest problem most people have with citrus is overwatering. Increasing the container size too much only increases that problem. At only a foot or so in height, it does not seem to me that the container is too small. I would suggest holding off on repotting and try to get a little more growth. If the plant is indoors for the winter, you can fertilize at half the normal rate as growth will be slower, but once spring is here, give it some sun and fertilizer with trace minerals.

Sorry Scott, I misread your post-- I see that the tree is 4 ft tall -- the container is 1 ft.-- In that case, as the the earlier person said, don't increase the pot to more than 12 in.
Good luck-- Cdoc
