I bought a lemon tree around 2 months ago and planted it in a 10 litre pot(as per instructions) it is currently around 30cm high with 10 green leaves but its simply not doing anything, its not getting any bigger but not loooking any worse - I replanted it last night in better soil and the roots seem to fall of very easily

Any advice regarding this tree

Citrus trees do not grow much during the winter-- in fact the roots are completely dormant at temperatures below 55 F. The soil you used should be very airy since citrus roots need lots of oxygen (chunky soils with bark or orchid mixes work well).

I also wonder if the 10 liter size is a bit much for a 30cm tree. Might tend to hold too much water. I've got meter high trees in smaller pots than that. The citrus HATE wet feet. Root rot very prevalent if roots remain too wet. Best of luck...

So should I consider repotting it into a smaller pot? Or would it be better to wait and see if it grows over the summer?

Pretty stunned - live on the banks of the Mersey with the wind blowing, raining pouring and the tree in the shade and out of nowhere its started to grow. Very confused!
